  1. Norma Crown says

So where are the puzzles beyond January 8, 2017?

  2. Kirt Petron says

So, when can we expect to see new puzzles?

  3. Seems that the volunteer staff has taken a long vacation or something!
We haven’t had a current puzzle since the 8th of January 2017.
    Please advise,
    Graciously,
    d’

  4. Dwight Carlson says

when will you have the newer crosswords.

    • Crossword Lover says

      We do now!

      • I’m not finding the printable puzzles for the Month of March – when I click the link, I’m always taken back to January. Is there a way you could put a link that leads to March? The puzzles are SO much more difficult but little by little I can fill in more than 4 clue answers…maybe I’ll be super smart before too long. Thank you for the freebies. Anna

  5. Really liked the old format for the puzzles. Printed all on one page. Trying to wait patiently. Thank you LA

    • Crossword Lover says

Most people were asking for larger print and formatted correctly so we are using this format now.

      • Why make it so large you have to print on 2 sheets of paper? The other format was perfectly legible and fit nicely on one page.

        • Please please return to printing the entire puzzle on the one page without having to go below the square to read some of the clues. having nothing that prints, as has been done for so long makes it impossible for me to keep the whole puzzle together.
          Thank you.
          Olwen

  6. Terri Houston says

Sorry, not a solution. Try again.

  7. Linda Keown says

Go back to the original format. 2 pages of large print is ridiculous. If it ain’t broke don’t fix it.

  8. Old, one-page format was better. Thank you.

    • Crossword Lover says

Noted. We are working on this. We can’t afford to purchase the old formated one anymore. Either these or close the site.

  9. Hate the new 2 page format AND cannot access the solutions page because my computer says the website is not configured properly and is not secure and therefore access is blocked for security reasons…………….

  10. Oops seems like you drug some Volunteers in off the street.
First: the puzzles are no longer on a single page PDF file and huge print.
Second: FireFox/Mozilla says it won’t load your page for the 20-24th of January because you’re using and invalid security certificate.
Come On friends let’s get it back the way it was! OK?
    Graciously,
    don

    • Crossword Lover says

We can no longer afford to pay for the old crossword format. We will try to make the new crosswords format on one page, so bare with us please. Most people wanted it larger as they found it hard to read the small print on one page and others do not. Sorry about the security certificate problem. We now have addressed ths.

      • Thank you Crossword Lover,
Funny how that is as when I printed out the crosswords in the former format they’d fill an entire 8.5×11 sheet. I was wasting a lot of paper until I acquired a printer that would reduce the size by printing it on half of the horizontal page affording me the ability to print two per page.
As a Nam Vet surviving the plethora of things associated with agent orange poisoning I besides reading my main source of pleasure is a decent crossword puzzle starting at the breakfast table with the first of the day. Your site afforded me two the LA Times and a regular one. Keeps the Grey Matter fit as it were.
Thank you for what you have already done.
        Blessings,
        d’13

        • Crossword Lover says

We understand and are working on a better solution. Thank you for your support.

          • Have you considered asking for donations so that you can go back to the old format that worked really well?
If everyone gave $1-$5, I am sure you’d be out of the red in no time.

  11. John McIlvride says

Thank You very much for your Printable Crosswords. I have enjoyed playing the daily printable crosswords for the last several years. I see the references to single page format, thank you. I hope you can cost effectively return to the single page format and I appreciate your sites efforts very much. John M.

  12. Is it possible to post the printable crosswords so that each puzzle prints onto ONE page, as prior to January 8 puzzles? Since January 20, the new format prints onto 2 pages per puzzle, which makes it inconvenient. Thanks.

  13. You can set your printer to print 2 pages per sheet and it will print on one page.

  14. Kirt Petron says

Ditto to what John and KJ say, but thanks for the new puzzles! Love what you do for us!

  15. Are these Tim Parker’s puzzles??????? They don’t seem to have a theme……..that’s what makes his so much more fun.

  16. Where can I find the answers for the Feb 2 puzzle? Thanks!

  17. Johnny Douglas says

Why are the puzzles spread across 2 pages. If you can, please put puzzle and clues on one page.

  18. Sarah Camden says

Thank you for getting the puzzle on one page. Appreciate your work.

  19. How do I reduce the size so I can print the entire puzzle on one page as I have done in the past?

  20. Polk Culpepper says

Thanks for putting crosswords on one page. How do I get the current printable LA Times crosswords? I enjoy doing them all. Thanks!

  21. Thank you for fixing the 2-page issue!

  22. Boo-Hoo…I didn’t like the 2-page large print (but I didn’t complain). Now I really like the 1-page concept; BUT…does the print have to be so smalllll???? I know, I know…”can’t-please-all-the-people-all-the-time”. 🙂

  23. The new puzzles aren’t very challenging, liked the old puzzles much better. But thanks for what you are posting.

  24. Either TOO BIG (2 pages) or t000 small (single page) and no way for me to the old original one page style
(see the archives!). Don’t mess up a good thing as I can’t LIVE without my DAILY TIMOTHY PARKER.
I think the original good style as been altered in format (word listings broken up and moved about so as not to
use a full page SPACE effectively. Hurry and get back to the archive styles,,,,,,,, Gotta stop I’m starting to cry!!!!

  25. Sarah Camden says

Thank you for your work. The format for the puzzle today is fantastic! Appreciate your work and postings of the puzzles. Thank you so much!
    Saran Camden

  26. Yaaay! February 8 puzzle is constructed perfectly! Everything is on one page and easily readable. Thank you volunteers. I am very pleased & I hope fellow solvers are also.

  27. I’m able to print Puzzles but unable to print solution from your site.

  28. Thank you for all the hard work! Love the new format on February 8th! Perfection.

  29. #1. Thanks for doing this puzzle “thing.”
#2. Very difficult to read in new smaller one page print. Any suggestions on how to make it easier to read. I am looking at it with 80 year old eyes. ALS

  30. replytosender says

finally got it right again…..now just get the solutions up there at the same time, like before, and you’re all set.
    Thanks

  31. I used to be able to access recent LA Times Crosswords on this site. Now I can only find ones as recent as the last quarter of 2016.

    • Crossword Lover says

We are working on getting them back. Sorry about the delay. We have to pay to license these crosswords. As a free site and community organization we often have help from the public to contribute the best they can. They have delivered in the past so we are hopeful they will return soon.

  32. Eleanor Stewart says

Why are the new puzzles so hard. They are so very challenging. Also, I am not able to find the answers

  33. February not working again

  34. Hi Guys, Thank you for all you have done in the past, it was much appreciated, however, there’s a problem again, the puzzle for today comes over as yesterday’s, can you get the right day and puzzle to come up? I really look forward to a new puzzle to work every morning, at 75 it keeps me on my toes. Where is Timothy Parker, loved his puzzles. Thank you for all the time you devote to this project.

  35. Susan Stizza says

Liked old format Printed on one page. This wastes paper and ink. What’s up with that???

  36. Mark Rebecek says

Where are print solutions for April 28th, 29th and 30th? Also print solutions for May 1st – May 7th?

  37. I’m so happy that I stumbled this site for the puzzles. I love them!! I have seen some puzzles come up as code only… I just go to the next one.
    Thank you.

  38. What happened to L A Times Crosswords with the big one on Sunday?

  39. Bob Kelleher says

A woman comes to our Senior Facility weekly with different “freedailycrosswords” which we can work on. There are sometimes areas I would like to ckeck with the solutions. Siometimes I can find the particular puzzle, other times that month is not listed!

There is no “Search” to ask for it — why not? Or why not list all the months of a year? I have August 31, 2017, but I can’t locate it in the list of puzzles with solutions . . .

  40. caroline huntley says

Thank you for making these available to us. For every complainer I’m sure there are so many more people who greatly appreciate what you do.

  41. Getting REALLY tired of the sloppy work i.e. big gaps in January 2017 for both puzzles and answers. So quit blaming your so-called volunteers and blame your sloppy editors!

  42. Patrick D. Almond says

The solutions pages for Jan 20 – 24 2017 are totally unrelated to the actual crosswords!

  43. Michael Robinson says

    Some downloaders are sooooo rude!
